"GUIDELINES:
RULES
AND REGULATIONS OF THE REGISTERATION
COMMITTEE
1. Eligibility requirements for registration for
tribal membership shall that each applicant must have a valid
Certificate of
Degree of Indian
Blood (CDIB)/ which represents that
the applicant has
proven through
legal
documentation to at least one direct lineal ancestor who is listed with
a blood
degree from the Final Rolls of
Citizens and Freedmen
of the Five
Civilized Tribes/ Cherokee
Nation.
2.
The Tribal Membership card shall not be valid without proper
signatures of the Tribal Registrar and the Principal Chief of the
Cherokee
Nation of Oklahoma.
3.
The Tribal Membership Card shall not be valid without
the indention of the Seal of the Cherokee Nation.
4.
All approved Tribal Members shall be issued a blue membership
card bearing a six digit number preceded by the capital letter/ "C".
5.
The Tribal Membership Card shall contain the following information:
(a) the name which was approved and entered into
the
Cherokee Registry/ (b)
the Cherokee Registry
Number/
(c) the
Date of Birth/ (d) the Address/ (e) the
Signature of the Tribal
Registrar, (f) the
Signature of
the Principal Chief/ (g) the Approval Date and
(h) the phrase/ "This
card shows the above named person to be a certified member of the
Cherokee
Nation of Oklahoma" and (i)
the
Legal Signature or Mark of the Tribal Member.
